When solving cyber crimes, it’s challenging for a first responder to capture critical information from a computer at a crime scene in the heat of an investigation without the in-depth training that UAT Network Security students received. VR begins to evolve at UAT! UAT students from all different majors put their heads together to create a new adaption for the HTC Vive handheld controller. Currently the HTC Vive VR headset allows the player to use motion-tracked, hand controllers to interact in fully immersive environments. The controllers offer the ability for the user to pick up objects, communicate and explore different levels within the game. The Student Innovation Project Fair (SIP) gave senior-level students a chance to present an innovative project to fellow classmates, faculty and staff. The SIP component is a requirement upon all students before graduation. The SIP is a reflection of the UAT Experience – developing ideas, prototyping the ideas into viable projects, and building the projects. This exercise also serves as a tangible project to showcase for future job opportunities. The Student Innovation Project, or SIP Fair this semester was an incredible showcase proving just what our talented students can do. They are amazing and this SIP Fair did not disappoint.
