On October 10, Professor Hue Henry will be speaking to students at Western Maricopa Education Center (West- MEC) about game programming and getting them excited about possible careers as game programmers. Some of the topics Professor Henry will discuss include how the tools and techniques used in a traditional, web-programming environment are also useful for those interested in pursuing a career in Video Games. Five UAT Game Studios students worked on a project called, “The Wall: Unknown Stories, Unintended Consequences,” under the leadership of USA TODAY NETWORK and The Arizona Republic. After 15 weeks of research and development, “The Wall,” launched on Sept. 20. “The Wall” is a in-depth project that provides a visual representation of President Donald Trump’s mission to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Summer Internship at iD Tech Camps

During the summer semester, Game Design and Game Programming student Tyler “Ozzy” Osborne worked as a paid intern for iD Tech Camps held at Rancho Solano Prep School in Scottsdale, from June – Aug. 2017. Ozzy was responsible for teaching students, who ranged in age from 13-17 years-old, Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine 4, C# scripting with Unity Engine, and level design in a mod pack for Torchlight II. The camp accepts students as young as 6-years-old up to 17-years-old. The Arizona Video Games Showcase joined Phoenix Comicon last year giving UAT indie game companies a chance to showcase their completed games to the public.
