The Student Innovation Project, or SIP Fair this semester was an incredible showcase proving just what our talented students can do. They are amazing and this SIP Fair did not disappoint. Under the guidance of Professor Natasha Vita-More, the summer semester SIP Fair has commenced on a very high note. Congratulations to all of our senior level students who completed and presented their SIP on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 in front of faculty, staff and a few parents. Digital Video Students Attend TedxPhoenix 2015

A group of nine UAT students had the wonderful opportunity to attend “TedxPhoenix 2015: Press Play” at the Mesa Arts Center on April 26. Under the instruction of Digital Video Professor Sharon Bolman and with IT guidance from Professor Paul Denigris via Skype, students used a camera set up with a Tricaster broadcast system and Live Streamed the entire show, which totaled over 4-1/2 hours of footage. The Digital Video (DV) program at UAT will take the video captured from the TedxPhoenix talk and convert the footage into three half broadcast segments for KAET Ch. 8, Arizona’s local PBS station….

UAT Digital Video Wins BIG at Inter-College 48 Hour Film Challenge!

For six years, a rivalry between University of Advancing Technology’s Digital Video Program and Grand Canyon University’s Digital Film Program has been building. Six years ago, UAT won the inaugural Inter-College 48 Hour Film Challenge hosted by GCU. Since then, UAT and GCU have alternated hosting – GCU in the Fall, UAT in the Spring – and for a while, UAT’s dominance in the contest was assured. Two years ago GCU added another component to the contest, the “POV Cup” – a traveling trophy the likes of the Stanley Cup that would be housed in the winning team’s home base until the next…
